After playing the leading man in Mariah Carey’s new video "Bye Bye", Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey fell for each other and didn't waste anytime moving to the next biggest step, marriage.
"I don't think anyone realized what we already knew, that we were going to get married," Carey, 39, told People.
On April 25th, 27 year old Nick proposed to Mariah on the rooftop of her Manhattan apartment with a 17-carat, pink-diamond ring wrapped up like a Ring Pop candy ring. They invited family and friends to Mariah's estate in the Bahamas for the wedding but the guest thought they were joining the couple for a music video shoot.
The only ones who had any inkling of the nuptials were those who had seen the couple's matching back tattoos. Mariah´s reads "Mrs. Cannon" and his "Mariah." Da Brat was one of the guests at the ceremony. They ate live Maine lobsters and sipped Dom Pérignon champagne flown in for the beachfront ceremony.
"I haven't been shy in years, but I was speechless. I was elated, but I was thinking, 'Don't pass out,' "Cannon told People about the ceremony.
